Accuride International Inc. was formed in 1962 as a division of a small tool and die shop, to manufacture and market a new concept in drawer slides. The original building was expanded several times and with the adjacent mill building it eventually grew to in excess of 300,000 square feet.
In the mid to late seventies Accuride expanded overseas, andestablished operations in Germany, U.K. and Japan. In 1985 Accuride opened a
facility in Charlotte, North Carolina; in 1988 another plant in Ontario, California was opened and in 1992 another facility in South Bend, Indiana. A year later a plant in Mexicali, Mexico was opened and in 1998 a second plant was built in Mexicali. The Santa Fe Springs location became the world-wide Corporate Headquarters.
Today, Accuride manufactures and sells to numerous markets, which include commercial and residential office furniture, electronics industry applications (such as electronic server racks, ATM’s and copiers), various kitchen cabinet uses, TV swivel stands and an array of industrial product applications (such as tool boxes and storage cabinets) and automotive storage applications.
